Mollie Manning Creative is a Kent-based business offering a range of photography services for small businesses and individuals. Looking to expand her offering into coaching for both photography and social media, Mollie required a full rebrand for 2021 to be used across her new website and social media channels.

stage 1 // strategy

As well as a visual refresh, Mollie was also renaming her business from 'Mollie Manning Photography' to 'Mollie Manning Creative', to be encapsulate all of her creative offerings, and the brand identity needed to depict her creativity throughout. The branding needed to appeal to a young audience with bold ideals, ideally attracting creative, fun, modern businesses such as fashion influencers and bloggers, while showing off Mollie's sassy, outgoing personality. Plus, Mollie wanted her new brand identity to give her a much needed confidence boost, with bright colours and bold shapes to help her be the 'cool' brand that she wanted to be.

inspiration and exploration

On Mollie's request, the main colours of the brand are red, pink and green - giving the identity a bold, feminine, sassy feel. Inspiration was taken from brands which used solid geometric shapes with a lot of flat colour, with retro vibes in use of bold logotypes pulled in to give it a trendy and stand-out feel. A range of typefaces, colour-ways and compositions were tested, before moving onto creating a final brand suite.

final outcome

Using an on-trend font for the main logotype, in combination with a wide range of logo elements gives the brand a fleshed-out, extensive personality, while nailing the girl-boss vibes that Mollie sought after. The logo elements pair gorgeously with her photography, and use of stand-out fonts within brand collateral help to maintain the bold, retro-inspired feel. Mollie was also provided with editable post templates to use on her social media page, designed to grab attention of her target audience and maintain visual cohesion across her social feeds.

stage 4 // impact

Mollie's rebrand was incredibly popular with her community, with members of her audience quick to comment how well it reflected her. The rebrand has enabled her to look more professional, and has helped to give her brand a cohesive identity across all customer touch points which effectively reflects her personality. Most importantly, Mollie now feels more than confident promoting herself and her services, with an identity that she loves and feels is a perfect representation of her and all that she has to offer in her business.
