Soulkit is a small business based in Tunbridge Wells, which provides a bi-monthly subscription box full of locally-sourced self-care products. Before the business' launch in late 2020, founders Hannah and Sophie approached Seven and Co to produce the visual identity for the brand.
Hannah and Sophie were looking for a feminine, calm feel for the brand, with an extensive visual identity which could be carried through the all of the brand touch-points - social media, website, print and packaging. The girls also requested for a dragonfly to be included as a personal reference for them as founders. The branding needed to reflect the self-care focus of the brand, while also being visually attractive in order to create an exciting product experience.
The discovery phase began with a Pinterest board provided by the client, as well as industry research and competitor analysis. We then explored a range of typefaces and compositions, as well as options for the custom dragonfly illustration.
The visual identity was then developed further to include a full logo suite, as well as a custom seamless pattern as a key component to be used in the print and packaging of the product. Social media assets were designed to enable visual consistency across digital touch points, including post templates and overlays, story backgrounds, and highlight covers. Soulkit also subsequently commissioned Seven and Co to create print assets for their monthly subscription boxes, such as worksheets and colouring pages.
Soulkit were able to quickly build up a social media audience for the business using their bold branding and social media assets, allowing them to successfully launch the product in late 2020. Founders Hannah and Sophie stated that the unique branding really helped them to draw attention and stand out from their competitors, and that the box sleeve designed (using the brand pattern) gave the boxes the high-end feel they were looking for.
"We are totally in love with our beautiful branding from MJP Multimedia! We were inspired to work with Millie after her work with the Tummy Diaries and as soon as we jumped on a Zoom call, we knew we'd made the perfect choice. We absolutely loved seeing Millie bring our little idea to life and everyone we've shared it with so far has loved the look as much as we do. Millie couldn't be matched on her enthusiasm, her creativity and the sheer amount of time she gave us to come up with the perfect brand. The process couldn't be simpler and Millie went the extra mile to help us turn around creative for our printers, and some wonderful colouring postcards too. We're so proud to have Millie as part of the soulkit family, and excited to collaborate together again very soon."
